On to 2011 our last year before the Mayan apocalypse...

I've heard... three of those. All of which I liked, none of which made my hastily cobbled together top 10 (#1: Swans). The rundown on Dusted was really good!

I wish people could still call me "prolific" at anything but my job.

Ohhhh yeah, I've been waiting for this list. I wonder if Mayan Apocalypse will make any top ten lists?

My son was telling me that the Mayan calendar is actually a tiny bit shorter than ours, so that 2012in their terms has already happened here. Which would explain a lot, don't you think?

Ian, I did like Swans and thought about putting it on here somewhere, but honestly, I didn't love it unreservedly and lots of other people are going to rep for Michael this year.

Well Jennifer, I really slacked off this year. My list includes The Fall, White Fence, Clogs, Fresh & Onlys, The Ex and Swans. There is still plenty of obscure stuff though.

BTW I like your write up in Dusted. Cheers!

Hey, Clif, that's a good list and I think we have more in common than I have with anyone else I've seen so far. Which is still just a couple of records, but anyway...

Just curious, have you heard that Soft Pack record? I think you'd like it, but I could be wrong.

How's Denver treating you?

If Mayan history is any indication, I think they're just getting us warmed up. I've pulled out Mavis Staples and Frightened Rabbit to listen to again now. Will you be voting for Pazz & Jop?

Ahem...before we get all anxious about this, remember that The Mayan calendar failed to predict the actual Mayan apocalypse in the 1500s.

Yes, I just put my album list into Pazz and Jop on Monday. I didn't vote on singles, because I really don't know what singles are anymore. And anyway, that category is dominated by the kind of very commercial stuff that I never listen to.
