Majeure

Majeure’s Timespan is Kraut-ish electronica from Zombi drummer A. E. Paterra, with three originals and three remixes (by, respectively, Steve Moore, Justin Broadrick and Black Strobe), all fairly extended and minimalist. For my review at Blurt yesterday, I concluded:

“There's a sense of both forward motion and eternity in these tracks, a sense that movement and stillness are not so much opposites as two sides of one perception. You have to be in the right mental space to appreciate Timespan, but it's an interesting place once you arrive.”

I've been meaning to look into this one. I'm glad you reviewed it.

Oh, good...yeah, I was chafing a little at the length of the tracks when i was reviewing it, but I think that only bothers people who have to listen to records a bunch of times in a row in a relatively short space of time.

Unfortunately I never got my shit together to review this one (and my copy didn't come with remixes), but I like the three originals quite a bit. The middle one reminded me a bit of John Carpenter.

Hmm...I think the Broadrick remix is probably my favorite thing on the album. Do you want it, or are you too buried with listening material?

Yes to both! If you don't mind the fact that I probably won't get to it for a while (like the other 70 things from this year I've got on my hard drive, sigh), I'd love to hear it.
