Bar-None is reissuing the first two Feelies albums, Crazy Rhythms from 1980 and The Good Earth from 1986. Both are quite good, but so different that they might almost be from different bands. I belabor this point endlessly in my review, which is up today at Dusted.
You can also read my interview with Glenn Mercer from a couple of years ago, if you want.
Or just skip to the music.

That's a good review. There's a good mix of the "Who are these guys?" and "Why should you listen?" elements to the reissue review template. I'll be super excited to finally have these on hand to convert all my friends. Were the bonus tracks included on the disc? I ask because I was informed that the bonus tracks would be digital downloads only.
Thanks, Jean-Luc. I felt dauntingly unworthy to review these. I'm glad my write-up passed, if it did.
I'm not sure about the digital versus disc issue, since all I got was digital, though both sets of reissues had the bonus stuff packaged separately.
When I was a manager at my college radio station, the local promoter would put me on the guest list as a courtesy. I saw a lot of shows in the late 80s that way.
I'd have to say that the Feelies (circa The Good Earth) was one of the best shows I remember seeing. I'm so glad they're being reissued.
Hey, Jack, I've been trying to remember whether I ever saw the Feelies, like at Maxwells or somewhere, but I think I probably didn't. Wish I had...
I just got physical copies of the reissues in the mail yesterday, and they're really nice. (though the bonus tracks are downloads, not included on the main album.)
