What's "Jugula" mean? You young hipsters and yr fucking cool terminology.

Knew you loved the Escovedo, didn't expect the Dirtbombs that high. Was listening to Electraglide driving home Tuesday night because I wanted to hear some funk and it was the closest thing I had in the car. Anyway, it has Ode To A Black Man which I swear they should play at Obama's inauguration, since Phil Lynott's not around to do it himself.

May have to give that Human Bell lp a few more lessons - hell, I payed for it. And I like it, but it doesn't keep me coming back. Thanks for the tips on all these, have checked out many because of you; do you have a Gutter Twins review up somewhere? I'm a nut for Lanegan's voice, as a longtime Screaming Trees fan I never expected his vocals to improve with time. Wash down the cigarets with whiskey, oh yeah. Usually that just makes you think you sing better.

Jugula's an album that Roy Harper did with Jimmy Page in 1984. It's not as good as the other two Harper reissues, but I just put them all together because they all came out together.

Dirtbombs got promoted late in the process, because they made my absolute favorite song for this year, "Leopardman at C&A".

I didn't review Gutter Twins or really do anything with it at all. I asked about doing an interview, but it never happened. We've been listening to that in the car almost every day since the middle of the summer. I forget about it because it doesn't show up that high in the iTunes play counts, but it's definitely one of the records of 2008 for me.

Yeah, I don't know, I do love that Human Bell.

I felt very sketchy about rankings this year, though. there are half a dozen albums that I like very much that didn't make the list, and if I made another one in a month it might be different. Nothing really killed me except the Escovedo and the Big Dipper, but there was a lot to like.

I'm doing a long Escovedo review for Dusted (I did one of those silly 100 word ones for PW last summer) in a week or so, so I'll get to listen to it again.
